1. The aim of Blandford
Museum Railway Club is to open up the use of the
model of Blandford Railway
Station to qualified and responsible people.
2. After receiving
training in the use and objectives of the railway, the members
will be expected to
further the development of the model railway, both in terms of it as
a model and as a tool for
education of the public in the historical significance of the
Somerset and Dorset
Railway. Members will also act as support team for the maintenance of
the railway and tracks.
3. Members will be
allowed access to the controls of the Railway Model, either
on their own during
regular museum opening times, or under supervision of the Museum
curators and officers of
the Club.
4. Adult members will
normally be over 16, but provision is made for younger
members provided they are
accompanied by an adult member. The membership fee for
members over 16 is £10 per
year, and £5 for young members. Members joining after
June 30th in
any year will pay half subscription. Fees will be payable to
Blandford Museum
5. The Club will be run
by an appointed Committee, which will consist of:

Chairman (who will be a member of the
Museum Council of Management)

Club Secretary

Financial Secretary
-
Railway Education Officer
-
The Museum Curator or other nominee of the
Museum
A quorum will consist of
at least three of the above.
6. The Committee will
report to the Museum Secretary on administrative matters
and to the Museum
Treasurer on all matters to do with finance.
7. The Committee reserve
the right to refuse or terminate membership of the
Railway Club. The decision
of the Committee is final.
9. Members will be
required to conduct themselves in a reasonable manner and
to respect the rights of
visitors to the museum who may be present at the same
time as activities of the
Railway Club, and demonstrate to visitors the layout of the
model and how it works.
10.Meetings of the Club
will be held and talks may be arranged. These will be scheduled
so as not to interfere
with the scheduled meetings and other activities of the Museum.
Visits may be made to
other places of interest from time to time. Visits by schools will be
arranged to demonstrate
the model and explain the significance of the railway, and projects on
oral histories will be
organised.
11. Special
exhibitions may be set up when opportunity arises and on the
suggestion of any member
of the Railway Club.

out risk assessments periodically

rules will be reviewed six-monthly.
